In a group of a maximum of 8 people, we roam the dense mountain rainforest in search of a habituated gorilla family. Accompanied by experienced rangers and trackers who have known the gorillas for years. The rangers inform us about the rules of conduct when tracking gorillas – then we set off. The trackers tell the guide where the gorilla family is and we hike over hill and dale across the forest to that exact spot. We carefully approach the group of primates and the moment we see them we are guaranteed to get goosebumps! The peaceful coexistence is fascinating, mothers keep a close eye on their frolicking young animals, the silverback majestically dominates the place. After an hour we retreat and hike back to the starting point.
